Thanksgiving is all about reminiscing, reflecting, and togetherness. For seniors, this can be a challenge due to memory issues, health concerns, or family members living far away. Some seniors may not have family or the means to be with family especially now in 2020 with COVID concerns.
As we begin to finish up 2020 we always take time to be thankful for the things we have. Every year Comfort HHA Foundation conducts a fundraiser to gather food and supplies for those in need. This year we were able to raise over $200 and enough food items to help feed the needy in our community.
Comfort Home Health Foundation donated 20 sacks of rice to communities in the Philippines that have been hardest hit by the COVID pandemic. Due to the widespread infection rate the Pilipino government has extended the quarantine until the end of November making it difficult for families to earn a living to support their families. This donation will help over 20 families in this region.
Helping others in need at Comfort HHA Foundation. Thank you to Marcia, Terry, Brandy, Rose, Christie, Annasctacia, Noah, Mark and Jessica for donating your time and resources to help Mr. C.
It was a great day today to be able to serve our community. Mr. C who is a young man in his late seventies lives alone and is struggling with health and financial complications. We were able to raise close to $300 to purchase basic household items he needs. Mr. C was very appreciative and thanked us profusely, he exclaimed that “This is better than Christmas!” Even though we had masks on we could see his heart smiling.
Every Christmas season Comfort HHA Foundation gathers resources to assemble food bags for those less fortunate in our community. This year our volunteers assembled and delivered bags to over 25 families in the Pinellas and Pasco counties. The brown bags contained non-perishable staple food items and fun snack items to help make the holidays more enjoyable.
