Some of these recipients of the brown bags were elderly residents with little income and no family to spend the holidays with. Our volunteers were careful to follow COVID safe procedures but were able to spend some time connecting and being a friend in the moment.
Other recipients were in need families hit with financial difficulties of lost jobs or low incomes during the COVID pandemic. Children, teenagers and young adults in these families were grateful for the added support.
One woman shared that she and her two young boys had just moved back in with their elderly mom due to a job loss and that money was tight and these gifts would help them make the best of this holiday season.
We would like to thank all of those who contributed their time and resources to this annual event. Our volunteers worked hard to make this year’s Christmas special for those in need.
Please contact us if you would like to be involved with giving back to our community or if you know of someone in need that could use some help.
